Current creative and professional developments, and some of the highlights of Alan’s past exhibitions and commissioned works for public display include:
2009 (May):
Following a very successful and inspirational journey to the Republic of China (Taiwan) Alan is developing a special relationship with Mr RS Chen's renowned Imavision Art gallery, Taipei.
2008 (September):

Alan's work comprised an important part of a Chinese TV news report concerning the promotion of facets of traditional Chinese culture to people in the West. In the news report one of Alan's art students was interviewed in relation to assessment of the artist's work, The Teahouse, which was highly praised as upholding fundamental classical Chinese art composition principles
2008 (October):
Alan was specially invited to contribute to the Bournemouth University Student's Union's prestigious Leadership Programme Freshers Week workshops. As a result of the success of the workshop Alan conducted, a university student union art and drawing society was created to teach traditional fine art drawing observation techniques, and composition principles. The Society is proving popular and developing well.
2008 (3rd - 24th June):
Alan contributed an exhibition of his works at the Agora Gallery, New York. The exhibition 'United in Art' featured key emerging and internationally recognised professional artists from the British Isles: Alan representing England in the medium of fine art drawing, his works earning considerable

2007 (Winter):
In December a selection of English landscape and architecture themed works were exhibited in conjunction with the EWACC at the Lennox Gallery, Fulham, London: an image of the display of Alan's works at the gallery is included here.
2007 (Autumn):

Commissioned to create the portrait of the celebrated national newspaper and magazine cartoonist, Steven Appleby. |

A number of commissions of Alan's very popular contemporary/minimalist-style acrylic works on canvas for various wine bars and restaurants (Example: ): these works focus on abstract themes, highly suitable for contemporary-style, home, office, catering and entertainment settings and locations. 2003:
Alan won the ‘Karisma Award for artistic excellence' at the annual United Kingdom Colour Pencil Society’s (UKCPS) national competition (open to entrants from sister organisations abroad including the USA Colour Pencil Society). Local commissions in 2003 also included a set of architectural drawings for the office of Ken Parke Planning Ltd, Christchurch: planning consultants involved with many contemporary-style building projects across the Poole, Bournemouth, and Christchurch conurbation. |

2000:
First Exhibition at the Nevill Gallery, Canterbury, since joining the gallery’s group of artists: continuing annual two week shows from 2000 onwards. |
